Churchyard of Basilica di Santa Croce

The Basilica is raised from the ground of eight steps. The current facade was built between 1853 and 1863 by the architect Nicholas Matas work, which was inspired by the great Gothic cathedrals such as the Cathedral of Siena and the cathedral of Orvieto, revised in the light of his age. The central portal has bronze doors that until 1903 were the Duomo doors. The Churchyard is often used for classical and other genres of concerts.
